a real wild love at Emerald Lake

Let’s rewind about a year and a half backwards from Vanessa and Alex’s adventure session at Emerald Lake. I met these two aussies while they were living in Nicarauga. As some of you know I flew down twice to Nicaragua last spring to vacation, create art, make connections and shoot for a handful of companies and couples. By the beginning of summer Nicaragua was in the thick of some pretty bad political unrest and Vanessa and Alex decided to do some travelling before calling Canada home. They moved to Calgary about a year ago and have been living the canuck life since! Along with their pup Chapo they are huge adventurers, taking every weekend to head into the mountains and explore Banff National Park. I was shooting a wedding in Banff at the end of September when Vanessa and I connected about doing an adventure session at the stunning Emerald Lake. They wanted to document the gorgeous fall weather and golden larch trees against the emerald waters. If you’ve ever been or stayed at Emerald Lake Lodge then you know just how appropriately named this lake really is!We caught up on all our adventures, how much they’ve been loving living right next to Banff and all the stunning places to explore, we sipped coffee, I snuggled Chapo and then at the end of our session we said our goodbyes before these two were off to spend the night in their campervan.I’m so thankful for all the incredible connections I have been able to make throughout my travels over the years. I’m forever grateful that my camera has led me to meet so many amazing people all over the world! xo
