The warm sun and crisp, October fall air added to my excitement for Voula and Brian’s Casa La Palma wedding. As I pulled up to Voula and Brian’s mid century modern brick house in downtown Toronto, I remembered my conversations with the couple about their love story, their venue, and all the special details they were putting in place for their downtown Toronto wedding. Voula and Brian’s original plan to elope at city hall was quickly put to the side when they came across the very original Pop Up Chapel. An idea thoughfully designed and run by the extraordinary Toronto wedding planner, Love by Lynzie team – and because of it’s short, and witty, tag line: #way cooler than city hall it became their new plan! Stepping foot into their effortlessly modern home, I was greeted with smiles from Brian, his family and V + B’s four year old twin boys. The giggles and laughter of the twins quickly became the soundtrack while everyone got ready, which totally brought a light and silly feel to the afternoon! Across the city at the luxurious Shangri-la hotel, Voula was toasting flutes of champange with her mom, brothers, and friends as she primped for the day. As the hotel room filled with the joyful sounds of excited loved ones, Voula slid into her stunning chiffon gown and badass patterned black heels. She oozed style and class! This aura of classiness surrounded the couple throughout their entire day; from their first look at the hotel, to theirs stunning floral arrangements (seriously though, Voula’s bouquet by Kenilworth literally broke my instagram that day!). Voula and Brian even made parenting look cool and effortless as we took our candid family shots moments before the Pop-up Chapel wedding was underway. Under the neon lights of the glowing palm branches, made by the PopUp Chapel team the couple exchanged the rings their boys carried (one ring each!!) down the aisle. Following the couple’s intimate vows and first kiss as man and wife, Voula and Brian and their entourage made their way to Dundas St. to continue their evening with their Casa La Palma wedding reception. Greeted by even more friends awaiting their arrival at the venue, the couple enjoyed an evening of cocktails and mingling. For their first dance, V’s brother, who is convienently and classically trained in both opera and acapella, sang an absolutely stunning rendition of a John Legend song that left everyone with goosebumps! Voula + Brian, thank you from the bottom of my heart for including me in your special day! May the grace and ease we captured on your wedding day follow you into every day of your marriage ♥︎.
We had initially planned to get married at City Hall, but the Pop Up Chapel was much cooler!
“The top moments of the day for me were reciting my vows to my sweetheart, oh and not toppling over the cake during the cake cutting!”
