Archeo Wedding - Distillery District - Toronto

the perfect sunny Archeo wedding

In the heart of Toronto’s historic Distillary District, I had the privilage of capturing Christina and Myles’s Archeo wedding on the most perfect summer day the city had to offer.Having known Christina for years through our ties working together in the wedding industry, I jumped at the chance when she and Myles reached out for me to be part of their Distillery District wedding day! What an honour! The day began in the most incredible downtown Toronto airbnb, where the interior was a natural mix of dark wood and lush greenery. The groom readied himself with his dashing wedding party and a nip of whisky served in crystal tumblers, while the bride and her ladies opted for silken robes and Chinese noodles! Dawning pearls and lace to accent her elegant silk slip, Chris was a vision of modern vintage glamour. A bouquet of greenery and delicate white flowers (compliments of the talented Tanya List Designs!) was the perfect finishing touch on a truly covetable ensemble that I was obsessed with!Heading onto the sunny streets and into a gritty graffitied ally, C+M shared a tender first look before making their way to Toronto’s Distillery District. Family and friends gathered around the couple to witness the Ketubah signing before the ceremony. In celebration of the their nuptials, an artist from New York had created a gorgeous piece which was unveiled at the signing adding a unique touch to this traditional Jewish service. The ceremony was an incredible spectacle with dramatic, overflowing greenery adorning the couple’s chuppah, which perfectly juxtaposed the red brick of the downtown Distillery District, and live music playing throughout. And under the beating Toronto sunshine, C+M recited their vows and promises of forever as they shared their first kiss as man and wife! I will never forget the bliss on Chris’s face as she giddily skipped away back down the aisle with Myles on her arm, as if nothing existed in this entire world but that one special moment. So beautiful! The interior of the reception at Archeo restaurant was super warm and cozy, with dozens of candles littered around the deep red and green colour palette of the place settings. Every special touch in the decor was thoughtful and elegantly placed, which was only accentuated by the incredibly delicious food the service at Archeo. Following heart felt speeches from friends and family, the couple and their guests headed to the dance floor to commence an enthusiastic rendition of a traditional Horah. Their family spared not an ounce of spirit as they raised C+M up and down on chairs and flung them in parachute-like blankets (where Chris did a total backflip and was very thankful she didn’t break her neck on her wedding day!). Christina and Myles, I am totally honoured to have been chosen to capture your special day! It was a day I will truly never forget. Mazel tov and L’chiam!-

Meet the couple

What was your favourite part of the day?!

Chris– “Having girl times with mom, aunts, sisters, and bridesmaids in a beautiful loft. Having my close friend Thompson play our first dance. Seeing the look on Myles’ face when he saw me for the first time”Myles– “First seeing Christina in her beautiful dress. Dancing all night to an amazing band with our friends and family. Seeing the art in the distillery at the end of the night”

Any tips for future couples getting married in the planning process?

* Get a wedding planner, it was amazing having the support throughout planning and on the day.
* During the wedding take a moment with just the two of you to take everything in. It can be a hectic day, but you need to take a moment and appreciate the result of all your hard work.
* Each person should pick one thing that is important to them and go big. Support each other.
* Live music can make all the difference!
