Before I had the pleasure of shooting their Liberty Village wedding at a stunning southern Italian restaurant; Caffino, I woke up one morning to a very sweet message from a girl named Anna who had seen something in my photographs that resonated with her. “Steve and I just want our wedding to be honest and authentic, romantic and a beautiful experience for everyone. Your pictures just look so romantic and in the moment, and just breathtaking! I am Looking forward to hearing from you!”. Looking back lovingly on the snapshots from their day, I can wholeheartedly say that they embodied honesty, authenticity, romance, and beauty to the fullest extent. Honesty was captured in candid excitement and joy as the day began surrounded by family and friends as Anna and Steve prepared for their day in the privacy of their own suites. The laugher and smiles radiated from all in attendance as the ladies popped bottles of bubbly and the men helped each other “suit up”. Authenticity was found in every detail of their ceremony, which took place in a stunning side alley in Liberty Village! How cool is that!? Set up in perfect little rows between the large brick buildings were rows of mutlicoloured wooden chairs, leading the way to an incredible makeshift altar made to look like a fireplace with lush greenery. The ceremony began with several special family members having their moment to walk the aisle before the bride appeared in delicate lace, contrasting perfectly against the dark buildings. Steve was moved by seeing his bride for the first time that day, and may have shed a tear or two (or five!) as she walked toward him. The couple completed their beautiful ceremony with a signing at a vintage wooden school desk, incorporating details of Anna’s passion for her profession as a public school teacher. Romance was the couple’s reception at the charmingly eclectic Southern Italian restaurant Caffino in Liberty Village. The room was engulfed in warm light from the floor to ceiling windows as guests seated themselves at long harvest tables while the couple opted to be seated at one of the cafe tables for two reminiscent of the piazzas in Florence. I loved the idea of the couple having their own romantic moments at their table, feeling intimate and connected as they received kind words and emotional anecdotes from their loved ones. And finally, beauty. Beauty in the way Steve and Anna took their first dance in their haze of marital bliss. Beauty from the love and admiration on the faces of their friends and family as they joined the couple dancing the night away under the warmth of a million stringed lights. Beauty in the simple fact that we were without a doubt in the presence of true love. Anna and Steve thank you so much for including me in your magical day.
