winter engagement in Toronto

Autumn in Toronto; what’s not to love? The crisp reds and yellows of the maples leaves, the rush of brisk air begging for a warm knit scarf, the freak snow falls… That’s right! If I’ve learned one thing about autumn in Toronto it is to expect the unexpected. The day before I was set to shoot Mel and Brian’s engagement in their Toronto neighbourhood of Parkdale, mother nature thought it would be a good time to dump a fresh layer of snow on our heads! Bad for my leather boots, yet offered up an amazing way to showcase the fall colours against a stunning white backdrop! After meeting up to get some snowy shots before the sun went down, M+B took me to Mitzi’s cafe; a cozy brunch locale which they frequented so regularly that Mel is affectionately known as the “pancake girl”. The girl knows what she loves (pancakes and Brian, of course)! As they took a seat at a cozy wooden table by the window, Mel and Brian sipped coffees to warm up before ordering their ceremonial pancake brunchfest ♡. After enjoying their sweet treat we set off to gather M+B’s adorable fur baby, Doug, and head back into the snow where we capture beautiful memories of quiet intimacy against the last moments of sweet orange sunset. Mel and Brian, I cannot wait to be a part of your big day and will be here for you every step of the way!
