I’ve always loved heading into Prince Edward County to capture love stories or to explore a winery. Now that I’ve moved a lot closer to the county it makes shooting there even better! If you’ve been to PEC, you know it’s stunning and such a vibe. So it really is the perfect place for a wedding, and as a PEC wedding photographer, I get to witness love stories in some of the most stunning settings in Prince Edward County. Mary and Aidan’s wedding at The Brighthouse Farm was no exception! This early October celebration was drenched in sunshine, framed by vibrant autumn colours, and filled with beautiful, heartfelt moments that reflected the couple’s love for one another, their families and friends.A Love That Lasts
Mary and Aidan’s story is nothing short of a fairytale. These two met in grade school and were in seperable almost right off the bat, becoming high school sweethearts. Mary writes “We have been best friends for over 14 years now and have been dating for nearly 11 of those years. We are both already very much a part of each others families and have a big group of shared friends”, proving that love can indeed stand the test of time and growth! Their connection was truly palpable throughout the day-from the way they stole glances at each other to their heartfelt vows that left everyone (including me) in tears.
The Venue: The Brighthouse Farm
Nestled in the heart of Prince Edward County, The Brighthouse Farm was the perfect venue for Mary and Aidan’s wedding. The rustic charm of the barn paired beautifully with the warm October sunshine and colourful fall foliage. The ceremony took place outdoors, with an alter made of reclaimed doors from Mary’s cottage and covered in white flowers. With it being such a warm day, guests were able to enjoy cocktails, including amazing espresso martinis from Civil Pours outdoors around the barn. As the sun set guests were invited upstairs and inside the beautifully restored barn for a cocktail style reception with eats from one of my personal favourite caterers; Hawley Crescent.A Dream Team
Along with the other vendors mentioned, Lexi and her amazing team from Lexington and Co worked her magic to bring Mary and Aidan’s vision to life. Every detail was impeccably planned, from the reception decor, to the thoughtfully curated tablescapes. It’s always a pleasure working with Lexi-her creativity and professionalism make every wedding she touches truly unforgettable!Mary and Aidan, your wedding was a testament to true love, deep friendship, and the joy of bringing people together! The First Look: Mary and Aidan’s private first look took place outside the farmhouse. They didn’t want the tradition turnaround moment, so Mary exited the farmhouse and descended the stairs where Aidan was waiting in the sunshine. It was a beautiful moment and the bridesmaids were even able to sneak a peek from the upstairs window!
- Golden Hour Portraits: Prince Edward County’s golden hour did not disappoint! We captured some breathtaking shots of the couple with the sun setting behind the rolling fields that surround the farm property! Everything was drenched in that perfect golden flow!
- Heartfelt Toasts: Friends and family shared stories that highlighted Mary and Aidan’s love story-from awkward teenage moments to their unwavering support for each other as adults.
- Tear filled ceremony: Mary and Aidan’s closest friend performed their ceremony, having that personal touch, along with the couple’s vows had everyone in tears!
