Outdoor Camp Wedding - Portraits by firewood

camping, canoeing, vegan food, a bon fire

are just a few things from Liz and Brendan’s adventurous outdoor camp wedding! From Liz “Brendan and I occasionally talked about having a wedding over the years and it could have gone either way. We decided summer 2018 to pull the trigger and have a wedding. We were already committed to each other for a long time (9 years), so our main deciding factor was that we wanted to have a huge celebration with all the people we love. AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!” I’d say it was worth it too! I’ve known Liz and Brendan for pretty much their entire relationship, and I don’t think I have ever been to a wedding that was more perfectly suited to the couple, their interests or their vibe than this one! An outdoor camp wedding is SO them!Everything took place at Brendan’s parents property as well as Liz and Brendan’s home, which is a mere 4km down the road. Brendan and the guys were setting up, running around the property and getting ready as I arrived. After capturing some of the hustle and bustle I headed over to see Liz and the girls. Driving into their cottage home was like going through a secret garden, the driveway which was covered in grass lead through over hanging trees and over 2 small wooden bridges. I thought to myself, am I even in the right place? But then I saw a wooden canoe, a pond and Liz standing in the sunroom looking over her bouquet. The day continued with more surprising and beautiful details; like Liz’s stunning Grace by Lace gown, handmade florals, vegan food, late night donuts, these two in a canoe that Brendan MADE on THEIR private pond, and all the amazing wooden signs, the bar and GARAGE that Brendan made or completed for the wedding! It was only natural to include canoeing and camping into their outdoor camp wedding, as shortly after Liz and Brendan started seeing eachother they went on a portage trip for their first real hang out (much like Christian and I). They have also both climbed to Everest’s  Basecamp! So Brendan, his brothers and Dad set up 25+ tents (with many more to spare) for guests to camp and crash in at their own Basecamp at the wedding. I could go on with so many more amazing parts of this wedding, but I think I’ll let the images do some of the talking! L + B, you two make me want to be a better person, thank you for including me in your day!  xox

Meet the couple

What was your favourite part of the day?!
Liz:1) Our ceremony! It felt hilarious and heartfelt <32) Taking newlywed photos at our home in Terra Nova.. It was intimate with just us 3, AND I’m so in love with where we live and feel like you captured its beauty3) DANCING ALL NIGHT!4) Sneaking away from the bonfire at 5am to eat pizza and donuts with my husbandBrendan:1) Watching the beautiful bride steal the show, walking down the aisle. Knowing I get to marry that hot chick.
2) Sneaking away from the busyness of the festivities to go hang out at Terra Nova for a bit. Awkwardly playing in the canoe and hammock chair. And then coming back to some fun pics with the fam.
3) Hanging out at the bar, getting to serve guests, cheers, catch up and shot gun beers! With the back drop of some classy folks dancing up a storm.
