As much as I am a Toronto wedding photographer, I do get asked to travel all over Southern Ontario and abroad, but when Jenny and Chris asked me to photograph their Distillery District wedding in downtown Toronto I was over the moon!

The Distillery District offers so much in terms of backdrops for a wedding and of course lots of charm with the old cobblestone walkways.

Part of my process when booking couples to meet with them in person, sit down, get to know one another and bond over a few things to ensure that we are a good fit to work together. I first met Jenny at one of my favourite breweries in Toronto, Blood Brothers. We immediately bonded over the beer and our love for dogs (her and Chris have 3!). Jenny did not stop beaming as she shared her and Chris’s long love story! We chatted logistics of the wedding and all the romantic details she had planned so far; they would be saying their I do’s at the old Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District, surrounded by a ton of friends and family. She explained that on the day she wanted to enjoy every moment of marrying her best friend. I was hooked, they sounded like my dream couple, and I knew I had to capture their day!

Then came the actual wedding day, everything went off without a hitch. Willow and Stems was on hand with their flower bar to ensure that all guests felt special and had a boutonnière or a flower hair pin! Solar Band ensured that there was lots of dancing with their incredible music! These two sure knew how to throw a party, and a party it was!

As Jenny wrote after the wedding “it was a serendipitous fluke” that I was available for their Toronto wedding as it was one of my final dates available. It’s couples like Jenny and Chris who are madly in love, all trusting and incredibly thankful that remind me that what I’m fortunate enough to do for a living is the absolute best!
