Hello, everyone! I am thrilled to share a truly special engagement session I recently had the privilege of photographing. This session was not just any session, but one that took place at Acres Ranch—my favourite place, my home.

While we only made Acres Ranch home just ~6 months ago, I’ve been finding inspiration at every drop in the hills, the way new trees and flowers are blooming, the wildlife we’ve witnessed and the way the setting sun hits the trees and logs of the house as it sets. When Marcie and Branden mentioned they wanted to come up to Acres Ranch for their engagement session, I knew it would be magical!

Not only are Marcie and Branden big adventurers, travelling the world, camping and hiking the mountains of Peru and Washington (to name a few), they also happen to be fellow Ontario wedding vendors, a talented couple who capture and create amazing wedding videos, One Oak Films. I always love working with people who understand being behind the camera. As fellow creatives, they have a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation of the light we were capturing, and as videographers they understand the importance of movement, which I LOVE to capture in my images. It was an honour to work alongside them and witness their love story unfold through my lens.

The session began in the golden hour, with the sun slowly sliding down the hill towards the lake, casting a warm and dreamy glow across the ranch. The light was perfect, creating a romantic ambiance that only nature can provide. We wandered through the trees, played on the tree swing and set up a picnic. If you can call wine a picnic! Hahah liquid dinner anyone!? 

Since we moved in we’ve been in awe of the sunsets (almost) every night. To document an amazing couple here with that perfect sunset, well it was a scene straight out of a fairy tale! It was a joy to see how effortlessly Marcie and Branden connected with each other and with the camera. And we can’t forget their beloved pup Gunnar who hovered close by and made an appearance in many of the photos!
