Tara and Justin dreamed of having a Muskoka wedding at the cottage where they spend a lot of their time together.
But they knew there would be some logistics to work out. Tara explained to me that the scariest part of planning was in the beginning – making those BIG decisions. “Could we really pull off a cottage wedding? What about the weather? Where would relatives stay? And what about the septic tank?” haha. She went on to say that once they had a date, and guest list, the rest was fun and that the cottage would be the perfect place to host their friends and family and make promises to one another!
Justin’s favourite part of planning was choosing the music for the ceremony! Tara’s favourite part of planning was dress shopping, and the couple days before the wedding when all their closest friends and family were working together to set up the lights and decorations around the cottage.
While Tara and Justin are not boating at the cottage or walking their pup Colbie, they can be found at home with movies and board games just enjoying each other’s company.

We took a huge chance having an outdoor wedding at the cottage, but I’m so happy that we did it because it made the wedding that much more intimate and meaningful, and setting everything up together was an amazing way for the bridal party and our families to bond
