With covid hitting hard over the past 15+ months, there has been a huge rise in popularity of Airbnb rentals, especially adorable Ontario a-frame cabins like the Hea Frame! Lydia and I had the opportunity to stay at this Sauble Beach a-frame for a few days. We enjoyed soaking in the beautiful surroundings, beach and of course the actual a-frame itself!
More about Hea Frame;
‘Newly constructed cabin on 25+ acres with access to beautiful Lake Huron. The minimalist design caters to families or small groups. The cabin is plunked in the middle of the woods, 400 ft. off of a gravel road. This is a place to truly unwind, and become one with the natural surroundings. Access to some trails is right off the deck. From here, you can explore the forest or make your way straight to the lake access where you can hop in a canoe and paddle the shoreline.’
Up the gorgeous wooden stairs to the second floor are two bedrooms; bedroom two: includes a queen bed, single bed, dresser, vented skylight(! so pretty for viewing the stars from bed!) and a window. Bedroom three includes queen bed, crib or single bed, dresser, vented skylight and lookout over the great room.
Back down on the main floor there is a sitting room with large windows surrounded by trees, in here you really feel like you’re in the woods. The room includes daybed and two wing back chairs (perfect spot for your morning coffee!) You will find an abundance of games and puzzles in this room as well as an acoustic guitar.
The outdoor space is really where you want to be though! The deck off the great room includes a picnic bench with seating for 8, as well as 4 folded chairs perfect for sunning or gathering together. There is also a barbeque. Just off the steps leads you into marked trails if you want to go for a walk or head to the beach. Or head to the North side of the cabin where the main entrance is and you’ll find a fire pit and outdoor games like bocce and badminton). The newest addition is a free standing, cedar barrel sauna on top of the hill with a perfect view of the a-frame & firepit area.

During our stay at the beautiful Hea Frame we were able to capture a fun engagement session with Isabella and Griffin! These two are getting married just north of Sauble Beach in Tobermory in 2022, and I can’t wait until their wedding day! They joined us for the afternoon at the a-frame cabin where we enjoyed time around the property chatting and listening to music. Then as evening set in we strolled down to the water for sunset. Lake Huron is truly one of the most beautiful spots in Ontario to view the sunset, with it’s calm waters and obstructed west facing views! We loved hanging with this fun and easy going couple and capturing their engagement!
Be sure to check out Hea Frame’s Airbnb listing for up to date booking information, availability and to view more photos that we capture during our stay! Give them a follow on Instagram too to watch what they’re up to and all the beauty of this Ontario a-frame!

While you’re in the Sauble Beach area you definitely have to be sure to check out the main attraction – the beach of course! With glorious sunsets and huge stretches of sandy beaches, it’s definitely the highlight and of course make sure to stop at the ‘Welcome to Sauble Beach’ sign for a photo op! Also try checking out some of the cute shops. Lydia and I headed into The Wellness Refinery for a late morning smoothie & a coffee for the road. They have lots of smoothie bowls & treats made in house, plus plants, jewellery, candles and other home goods by different artisans! If you want to switch up your lodging for a night and try something completely different, The June Motel with it’s 70s style beach motel! There are multiple rooms available and a gorgeous pool out back to give you total vacay vibes!
As always it’s a blast to collaborate on blog pieces, bounce creative ideas off one another, explore and goof off with the windows down and the tunes up! Until next time!
